Although we already heard that Huawei will enter the US market via AT&T and Verizon Wireless with the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, now we also know that the smaller of the two is scheduled to hit AT&T in February.

The year that lies ahead looks like a big one for Huawei, since the Chinese phone maker that is planning to dominate the global smartphone market in just a few years is finally hitting the US stores via the official channels. Not long ago, we heard that AT&T and Verizon Wireless will be the first carriers to add Huawei handsets to their portfolios, starting with the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro flagships.

A recent inside report reveals that AT&T will launch the Huawei Mate 10 in February 2018. The interesting part is that this handset will come with slightly different specs than the standard version. But what does this mean? First of all, support for all AT&T bands. Since the regular version comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, it would not be a surprise to see at least one variant with less powerful or beefed up specs for AT&T. The Chinese market is the only one with a 6 GB RAM/128 GB internal storage variant for now, but that might change. At last, it is highly possible that Huawei and the US carriers are preparing a customized Android version to better suit the tastes and needs of the local market.

Back in 2013, Huawei was accused of spying for China by a forma CIA chief who claimed that the company handed information to the Chinese government. Since Samsung managed to bounce back less than a year after the Galaxy Note 7 failure, Huawei will probably do fine as well. Right now, their greatest concern in the US should be choosing the right strategy needed to beat Apple and Samsung.
