Rumor | Honor will release its 50-series flagship smartphones in June 2021 with a new "Cartier Ring" rear camera design
An earlier leak pointed to a Pro+ variant of the successor to the Honor 30 with a rear panel most reminiscent of the Vivo X60 series. However, the latest render allegedly associated with the upcoming "50" might contradict it somewhat. It shows a phone with a camera hump that is lozenge-shaped rather than square.
Then again, it is still designed so as to devote space to a markedly large main sensor, as with the OnePlus 9s or Meizu 18s of the world. According to (translated comments from) the tipster responsible for this possible new leak, known as PengPengJun on Weibo, Honor has dubbed this the "Cartier Ring" design , probably due to the shiny disc around the dominant lens.
According to the render, the 50 will have 3 rear cameras in all, one of which might be a top-end 50MP sensor. Meanwhile, another eminent Weibo leaker, Digital Chat Station, now claims to have heard the 50 - which might be powered by the Snapdragon 870 with the flagship 888 processor reserved for Pro and/or Pro+ variants - should be on the market by June 2021. Therefore, it is possible the phone might actually launch in late May.
