The Honor MagicBook Pro 14 features a high-resolution OLED touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Thanks to the high resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, it offers impressive image quality. Even bright contents do not look grainy, despite the touch layer, which is an issue for many competitors.

Expensive multimedia laptops are pretty much only available with OLED panels by now, which is not surprising considering their advantages: Perfect blacks, high contrasts, rich colors and fast response times. Once you add a touchscreen, however, many models are suffering from a slightly grainy image quality, especially on brighter contents - depending on the model, the issue is more or less pronounced. That this does not have to be the case is shown by Honor with its current MagicBook Pro 14 2026, which we already reviewed.

The first thing you will notice is the 3:2 aspect ratio of the touchscreen, which offers more vertical space compared to many rivals. This might not be ideal for movies, but productive work benefits. The second thing you notice is the phenomenal image quality and there are no problems with a grainy image quality despite the touch layer. Movements are very smooth thanks to the refresh rate of 120 Hz and you get very accurate color profiles for different color spaces like sRGB or P3 out of the box. We managed to slightly improve the image quality with our own calibration and the corresponding profile can be downloaded in our review for free, but this is not really necessary since all color deviations are already below the important target value of 3.

The only area with room for improvements is the brightness. The maximum SDR value is good at 525 nits, but up to 770 nits for HDR contents are beaten by some rivals. However, this is moaning on a very high level and it does not affect the impressive image quality, either. Honor also offers a very handy feature, because you can simply deactivate the touch functionality via control center if you do not need it. This can be very useful and we hope more manufacturers will start to implement this function.
