Honor releases new MacBook Air rivals with Intel Panther Lake and 120Hz displays

Honor has released the MagicBook X Plus 2026 lineup in China, introducing two new thin-and-light laptops that rival the MacBook Air series, especially in terms of form factor. They are powered by a mid-range Intel Panther Lake processor, the Core Ultra 5 325.
This choice of processor does make the new laptops stand a little behind in terms of processing power, especially when compared to options with the Core Ultra 5 338H (such as the 2026 Xiaomi Book Pro). However, for the form factor, it's packing enough power to handle most day-to-day workloads.
Among the two, the 2026 Honor MagicBook X14 Plus weighs around 2.84 pounds and measures as thin as 14.99mm. It features a 14-inch display with a typical brightness of 430 nits, 2880x1800 pixels resolution, and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The MagicBook X16 Plus, on the other hand, weighs 3.61 pounds and measures 15.99mm. It sports a 16-inch LCD with the same typical brightness rating and refresh rate. The resolution, however, is lower, at 2560x1600 pixels. Honor says both have 100% sRGB coverage, so the color output should be good.
Now, while the MagicBook X16 Plus is larger, Honor has packed it with the same battery as the smaller X14 Plus. That is, both have an 80Wh cell, and the laptop range has support for reverse 65W fast charging. Runtime-wise, the company says that the total runtime can reach up to 14 hours.
Another notable highlight of the laptop range is the durable build, with the IPX2 and MIL-STD 810H ratings being under the spotlight. Honor also notes that the cooling setup of laptops is capable of delivering 50W of performance.
As for the price, both laptops are available with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and the MagicBook X14 Plus costs CNY 5,999, around $879. The larger 16-inch model, on the other hand, has a launch price of CNY 6,199, about $908. Honor is expected to bring both these Intel Panther Lake laptops to the global market soon.
