Honor launches new affordable smartphone with massive 11,000 mAh battery

Honor has officially unveiled its latest budget-range smartphone, the X80 Pro Max, in China. The phone’s main selling feature is its massive battery capacity. Speaking more precisely, the smartphone boasts a massive 11,000 mAh battery with 90 W wired (Ugreen Nexode 100 W charger curr. at $54.99 on Amazon) and 27 W reverse-wired charging support. This is the first smartphone with the largest battery capacity in the brand’s smartphone lineup to date.
The device features the SGS Gold Label 5-star environmental drop resistance certification and triple IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. In terms of display, the Honor X80 Pro Max has a 6.8-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a resolution of 2788 x 1280 pixels, a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Despite boasting a large battery, the smartphone measures just 8 mm (0.31 inches) in thickness and weighs around 203 grams (0.44 lbs).
Under the hood, the Honor X80 Pro Max is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, a rather mid-range processor featuring four Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. It packs 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. Software-wise, it runs Android 16-based MagicOS 10.0 out of the box. However, there’s no word on its software support from the brand. For photography, you get a 50 MP OIS-enabled rear camera and an 8 MP selfie camera.
Available in orange, red, black, and moon shadow color options, the Honor X80 Pro starts at CNY 1,999 (~$295) for the base 8 GB + 128 GB model, and the top-end 12 GB + 512 GB variant is priced at CNY 2,799 (~$413). Interested buyers can now purchase the smartphone directly via Honor China’s official website.
