Nothing Phone (4b) is revealed as budget phone with single rear camera in first teaser video

The Nothing Phone (4a) ($509 on Amazon) will apparently soon be joined by a more affordable Nothing Phone (4b). Nothing has posted several teaser videos on the social network X, all of which primarily feature a small "b." If that isn’t obvious enough, one of these clips even shows a schematic of a smartphone, followed by a 4B pencil.
The teaser video suggests that the Nothing Phone (4b) will have a partially transparent back and just a single rear camera. This is likely a clear indication that it is an affordable mid-range smartphone that makes compromises in terms of features to enable a lower price. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis explains the logic behind this product naming convention. According to him, the number – in this case, the "4" – indicates the current generation of Nothing Phones.
The letter indicates the product segment within that generation. The "a" series represents the highest-end product line after the flagship models, which do not include a letter following the number at all. The "b" series is intended to build on the success of the Nothing Phone (4a) and break into a new product segment – further indication that this model will be offered at a lower price. It is not yet known when or at what price this Nothing Phone (4b) will be released, but it usually takes only a few weeks from the first teaser video to the launch of a Nothing Phone.
