OnePlus 15R gets a new and more powerful variant, but it's exclusive to India

Since the launch of the OnePlus 15R last December, it has been available to buy in two configurations — a 256GB version and a 512GB variant, both of which have 12GB of RAM. OnePlus has now released a new variant that is currently only available to buy in India.

The new variant of the OnePlus 15R has 16GB of RAM, matching the more powerful OnePlus 15. However, this version of the phone is available with only 512GB of storage. The price of the new 16GB RAM + 512GB version is ₹61,999 (~$655/€570), which is significantly cheaper than the $749.99 that you pay for the 12GB RAM + 512GB version in the US. This might explain why this new variant isn't sold in the US, as its price will put it in the same range as the OnePlus 15 which starts at $899.99.

The new 16GB RAM variant is already available to purchase in India in Mint Breeze and Charcoal Black colors only, as OnePlus didn't release this new variant in Electric Violet. Interested buyers can purchase the OnePlus 15R with 16GB RAM on the official OnePlus website. It is also available on Amazon India, albeit limited to Prime members.

The OnePlus 15R has a 6.83-inch display with a 2800 × 1272 resolution, a 165Hz adaptive refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and has LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. On the back of the phone is a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera. It also has a 32MP front-facing camera with autofocus.

Under the hood is a 7,400mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging (charger included in the box). The OnePlus 15R also has an advanced cooling system, WI-Fi 7, NFC, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-SIM support, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a dual IP rating (IP66 and IP69K) for dust and water resistance. The OnePlus 15R ships with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, and will receive four OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
