Honor X40 official launch announcement confirms 5G and an OLED screen for the upcoming smartphone
Honor has released an X40i in 2022 thus far; now, the OEM has announced that it intends to launch a flagship sibling for that smartphone. The device is now touted as a leap forward for its series, as it will be the one to bring OLED displays to its typically affordable series.
The panel in question has also been revealed as being curved and having a central punch-hole for a selfie camera thus far. The X40 has become caught up in rumors of seriously advanced camera specs for its probable mid-range destiny; however, the rest of its new design-related tips leave little scope for such an upgrade.
The Chinese e-commerce giant JD has already added the X40 to its site in a preview that puts its entire rear panel on show. The smartphone is thus depicted as perpetrating its X30-series forebears' camera hump, although it has evolved into a significantly thinner black glass ring around an expanse of blank space with "MATRIX AI VISION CAMERA" branding lost in its center.
Therefore, while this new rear camera style matches Honor's earlier "double rainbow" teaser, it seems to leave room for no more than 2 lenses and a flash. Honor has yet to reveal how much this X40 (which seems to come in just 1 icy gradient colorway) will cost, although it is accepting reservations for the new smartphone from now until its September 15, 2022 debut.
