The brand-new Honor Watch 5 Pro is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, but is still intended to offer a premium feel with a stainless steel bezel and a 5 ATM water-resistant case. The watch has a diameter of 46 millimeters and a height of 11.6 millimeters, and weighs around 50 grams.
Honor installs a round 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 and a remarkable brightness of 3,000 nits, ensuring good readability in direct sunlight. Speakers and microphones allow the use of an AI voice assistant and enable phone calls via the smartwatch. Honor also incorporates an NFC chip for contactless payment and a GPS module for tracking routes while running or cycling. The smartwatch is said to have a battery life of 15 days, or three days if the integrated LTE modem is always activated.
The watch provides numerous fitness and health features, starting with a blood pressure monitor that provides specific readings. Since this uses a PPG sensor similar to the Samsung Galaxy Watch8, the readings should only be viewed as a rough guideline, as they cannot replace a medical blood pressure monitor. The Honor Watch 5 Pro also features an electrocardiogram (ECG) as well as a heart rate and SpO2 sensor.
Price and availability
The Honor Watch 5 Pro is available in China either as a Bluetooth version for 1,599 yuan (approximately $224) or with an LTE modem and eSIM for 1,699 yuan (approximately $238). Honor is yet to confirm any information about a possible international launch.
