Honor Magic Vs: Next-generation foldable launch date confirmed following emergence of leaked design and specifications
Honor has teased the design of its next foldable smartphone, which it has confirmed will launch as the Magic Vs. Arriving a few days after a Weibo leaker shared sketches of the upcoming smartphone, Honor has stated that the Magic Vs will be at the heart of its November 23 launch event. Currently, it is unknown whether Honor plans to introduce other smartphones, with the Magic5 series reported to be at a late stage of development with Qualcomm's forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
Based on the image shared by Honor so far, the Magic Vs is much thinner than its predecessor when unfolded. In fact, the device appears barely thick enough for its speaker grille. Additionally, the Magic Vs has a flatter design than its predecessor, a trend that has made a comeback of sorts with recent flagship iPhones and the Nothing Phone (1). Moreover, Honor has confirmed that the foldable display will have a punch-hole, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold4.
Unfortunately, other details about the Magic Vs remain unknown at this stage. For example, it is unclear whether the handset will be a minor upgrade over the Magic V, which its name suggests. If that is the case, then we would expect the Magic Vs' main upgrade to be the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. According to this week's leaked Magic Vs drawings, the handset will also have a 5,000 mAh battery, plus three rear-facing cameras and another punch-hole selfie camera within its large cover display.
