Update October 29: Honor has posted a promo image (see below) of the upcoming Honor Band 6 that reveals it will have a full screen and the launch date for the wearable has also been announced: November 3.
Original story:
A tipster on the Chinese social media site Weibo has been offering up some scant but interesting information about the Honor Band 6 and Huawei Band 5. Apparently, the smart bands are almost ready to be launched, with a possible launch date landing in early November. Singles’ Day takes place on November 11 in China, with the unofficial holiday now reportedly the largest shopping day in the world. It would make sense for Huawei to release new products in time for this huge e-commerce event.
Unfortunately, specifications and images of the Honor Band 6 and Huawei Band 5 are very thin on the ground at the moment, although there is some speculation that they are actually one and the same device with different names for different regions, in a similar fashion to how the Redmi Band became the Xiaomi Mi Band 4C for certain markets.
However, there is a mention of the Honor Band 6 being the “first full screen bracelet”, which would be an appealing selling point if true. There was a point when it was believed the Mi Band 5 from Xiaomi would come with an almost bezel-less display, but in the end it did not deliver in this regard. So along with looking potentially even sharper than the not unattractive Honor Band 5, the successor would likely also sport vital utilities such as an SpO2 monitor, continuous heart-rate tracking, and personal training assistance.
