Industry insider Tom Henderson has viewed footage from an upcoming horror game called Overdose. It is being developed by Kojima Productions and features a character from Death Stranding. The game is likely to be unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2022.

Industry insider Tom Henderson has reliably heard Kojima Productions is working on a new game called Overdose. Henderson claims to have viewed some footage from Overdose, which reveals a recurring Death Stranding character Margaret Qualley aka Malingen (Mama) walking down a dark corridor.

The video's general aesthetic suggests that Overdose could be a first-person horror game. Hideo Kojima is no stranger to the genre and is likely itching to make one after Silent Hills' cancellation in 2015. A report from earlier essentially confirmed that there was a Death Stranding sequel on the way. Hence, one can reasonably assume that Death Stranding 2 (tentative) and Overdose are separate games. The recurring characters could hint at the fact that both games could be set in the same universe.

Kojima is expected to unveil Overdose at Summer Game Fest 2022 on June 9, alongside other industry bigwigs like EA, Epic Games, Sony, Square Enix, and Namco Bandai. The Silent Hill franchise is rumoured to make its comeback at the event, too. It'll be a bitter reunion between Kojima's new horror game and a legendary title he didn't get to make.
