Model: The HP Envy 17 is a 17 inch powerhouse and desktop replacement computer. The backbone of this laptop is a Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz with integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500. 8 GB RAM are sufficient for multimedia, gaming and multitasking on the Windows 8.1. The 17.3” display features a Full lHD resolution. The incorporated NVIDIA GeForce 940M with 2 GB is able to run all the latest games. The full sized keyboard with backlight and the multi touch trackpad make navigation and input a breeze. As for expansion slots, there is a HDMI port and 4 USB 3.0 ports.
The 4 cell lithium-ion battery makes for at least 4 hours usage on-the-move. The total weight of this HP Envy 17 is 2.82 kg and it is 2.93 cm thick with the lid closed. Thus, it is reasonably portable for a 17 inch laptop. The color combination is a silver with an aluminum cover that gives it a premium look and feel. The premium Bang & Olufsen speakers sound crisp. Finally, this notebook is an outstanding multimedia and gaming device for users who intend to replace their desktop PC with a laptop.
NVIDIA GeForce 940M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce 900M series, based on the Maxwell architecture.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.8 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.

91%: There are not very many models that are rated better. Most of the assessments are in percentage ranges below that. The tested product is not considered perfect, but the sources give a clear purchase recommendation.
