80% HP Chromebook 15 review: A great way to do more with Chrome at home
Source: CNet English Archive.org version
You may be used to Chromebooks that are small, plasticky and underpowered, but the HP Chromebook 15 is none of those things. In fact, it's more like a higher-end mainstream Windows 10 laptop, but with the simplicity and security of Chrome OS and a price under $470 (£399). If mobility isn't a concern and you're ready to make a Chromebook your primary computer at home, this 15.6-inch HP is an easy recommendation.

Chromebooks keep expanding, in popularity and screen size. They have moved beyond schools and the budget shelves at your local electronics mart into homes and coffee shops, as inexpensive, easy-to-use alternatives to Windows laptops and MacBooks. Helping fuel this adoption is the Chromebook moving from undersize 10- and 11-inch displays to panels big enough to get work done, paired with keyboards that don't feel cramped. With its 15.6-inch display, HP's Chromebook 15 ($469 as tested) is among the largest Chromebooks on the market, alongside the budget-minded Acer Chromebook 315 and the spiffier Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630. It even has a number pad. Unfortunately, a tiny battery crimps the unplugged runtime. If you don't need to stray far from an outlet, though, there's much to like about this Chromebook.

If you're looking for a sub-$500 Chromebook, you won't find a better deal than the HP Chromebook 15. It has solid Core i3 performance, long battery life and a comfortable keyboard, all packed in a refreshing design. However, I wish that the speakers were louder and the display more colorful. If you're looking for a more-premium Chromebook, go with the Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630 ($899). It has a colorful 4K panel, a 2-in-1 design and stronger, Core i5 performance than HP's machine. Overall, the HP Chromebook 15 is an excellent performer for the price.

HP Chromebook 15 Review: The First Chromebook With A Number Pad
Source: Chrome Unboxed English Archive.org version
In the end, price informs on all these decisions. Know what you are getting and don’t pay full price for this Chromebook and I think you’ll walk away from the purchase satisfied with your decision and satisfied with your Chromebook. After all, this device is only weeks old and is already on sale left and right. At the right price, this device quickly becomes a great value. With both Lenovo and Acer poised to offer Chromebooks with number pads as well, it might be worth waiting to see how those fare. Either way, if you do need a Chromebook with a number pad and find a sale on the HP Chromebook 15, I think you’ll enjoy it.

80% HP Chromebook 15.6 (2023) laptop review: A decent budget buy
Source: Techlusive English
To summarise, the HP Chromebook 15.6 laptop is a decent runner, especially if you plan to use it for light usage, like responding to emails, typing and browsing the internet. It’s ideal for families who don’t have to run heavy software or shuffle between apps. Its not-so-premium design doesn’t require delicate handling making it ideal for kids who primarily need it use it for their schoolwork.

70% HP Chromebook 15.6-inch (2023) review: A suitable option
Source: Gadgets Now English
The HP Chromebook 15.6-inch laptop comes at a starting price of Rs 28,999. It is a good proposition for anyone who doesn’t want to spend too much and doesn’t demand too much out of the laptop. The HP Chromebook 15.6 performs reliably when it comes to basic and routine tasks. The display could’ve been better but it’s not a deal breaker either. Students will certainly find this laptop an attractive proposition. If a solid and functional laptop is what you are looking for and don’t want to spend more than Rs 30,000, HP Chromebook 15.6 is a suitable option.

80% HP Chromebook 15.6 (2023) review: At Rs 28,999, a laptop worth considering
Source: India Today English
Despite its visible flaws, the HP Chromebook 15.6 (2023) offers great value for its price tag of Rs 28,999, making it a student's best friend and a viable option for parents looking for an affordable personal computer. Additionally, the HP Chromebook 15.6 (2023) comes with a nice HP bag that may bring a big smile to the faces of young customers who are getting their first laptop. Elderly users may find ChromeOS a bit confusing at first, but that's just an initial hiccup. For regular office-goers, the HP Chromebook 15.6 (2023) can run multiple tabs and apps in the background simultaneously, but sometimes, the lags can be too prominent and frustrating. In that case, the Indian PC market has a lot to offer at different price points. HP also has a lot to offer at different price segments. You can refer to our "Buying Guide," where we list the best laptops, smartphones, and earbuds in India each week across segments.

80% HP Chromebook 15.6-inch review: What the schoolkids need
Source: The Indian Express English
Yes, in fact, I am thinking of getting one for my son. This is also because being a Chromebook, I can use the Android Family Link to manage the device for him remotely and keep him secure. It is pointless trying to keep children away from devices in 2023, it is better to figure out how we can supervise what they do and guide the to more creative endeavours online. And for this, the HP Chromebook is a pretty solid device. Since most of the stuff children do these days are in Google chrome anyway, the Chromebook is more than capable of handling their demands. It helps that the HP Chromebook 15.6 is priced at Rs 28,999, that’s less than the iPad we had to buy for his school.

77.2% HP Chromebook 15a (2023) Review: Bare minimum internet machine for students and casual surfers | Notebookcheck
The HP Chromebook 15a aims to be an affordable entry into the online world for students and those who are looking for a cheap internet access device. Despite its mid-2023 release, the Chromebook 15a makes significant hardware compromises to maintain its sub-₹30,000 (sub-US$350) price point even while notably more capable laptops are increasingly becoming available within this price bracket.

78.4%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
