Model: Hewlett Packard (HP) has been one of the big brand names within the laptop industry which happens to be also the pioneering force behind the empowerment of laptop devices in this day and age. With its solid foundation laid down since the year of 1935, Hewlett Packard’s ever-expanding collection of technological products ranging from a variety of hardware to multipurpose services has maintained the company’s standing as one of the brands to be within the immediate top 100 list of everything. With that being said, it is almost ascertained that products of Hewlett Packard’s are guaranteed with quality, but such case may not be entirely true for their release of the HP 15-da1614nd laptop model.

First and foremost, the HP 15-da1614nd laptop model is supposedly designed to cater towards the clientele of stay-at-home homemakers or the average suburban residents. This is due to the fact that the HP 15-da1614nd laptop model does not offer features or specifications that are capable of living up to the work standards of the majority of business-oriented or gaming laptop models that exist in the market throughout these past few years. The performance of the HP 15-da1614nd as a notebook is being handled by a somewhat outdated processor, which is known as the Intel Core i5 8265U microprocessor. This particular microprocessor can only achieve up to 1.6 GHz as its base speed, which alludes to the very fact that the HP 15-da1614nd laptop model can sustain no more than a few active, opened tabs on the user’s web browser of choice as well as the launch of selected applications due to insufficient power to simultaneously back up the processing of numerous data flow. Though this downside can be mitigated through the activation of Turbo Mode through Intel Turbo Boost technology which unlocks the performance speed up to 3.9 GHz, this, however, still renders the HP 15-da1614nd laptop model to be susceptible to premature heating.

It is also somewhat of a shame that the physical design of the HP 15-da1614nd is rather lackluster and uninspiring at all. With a mundane look in a complete black color variation, the HP 15-da1614nd comes off as generic and dull compared to a lot of other choices that are available in the market, which also happen to be within the same retail price range. Suffice to say, users are better off to opt for a better model (provided it is within their budget) instead of picking up the HP 15-da1614nd model to be taken home.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

i5-8265U: Whiskey Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.9 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

15.60":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.

In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.

80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
