9to5Google claims to have received more information about the Pixel Watch, Google's long-awaited smartwatch. To recap, the Pixel Watch's design has already leaked, as we have covered separately. Additionally, a Bluetooth SIG listing suggested that Google would release at least three models, including the 40 mm variant that has already leaked.
Citing 'a source familiar with the matter', 9to5Google asserts that the Pixel Watch has a 300 mAh battery. However, it has not confirmed whether all Pixel Watch models will have identical battery capacities. For context, Samsung equips the 40 mm version of the Galaxy Watch4 with a 247 mAh battery, which achieved underwhelming runtimes in our tests.
The same is true of the smaller Galaxy Watch4 Classic, which has a 42 mm case size. By contrast, Samsung includes a 361 mAh battery in the 44 mm and 46 mm versions of the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic, respectively. Incidentally, the Fossil Gen 6 has a 300 mAh battery, which also yields poor runtimes.
Unsurprisingly, 9to5Google states that Google will offer the Pixel Watch with LTE connectivity. Again, it is unclear whether this additional connectivity option will be exclusive to one model or not. Either way, the Pixel Watch will have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, regardless of the model chosen. Based on previous rumours, the Pixel Watch should make a minimum of an appearance next week at Google I/O 2022, likely alongside vanilla Wear OS 3.
