Google Pixel 9 shown again by new hands-on video with display switched on for first time
A new hands-on video showcasing one of Google's forthcoming flagships has surfaced online, only a few days after a previous video was posted on X (formerly Twitter). To recap, the first video showing the Pixel 9 was rather short, at just over 13 seconds. By contrast, this newer video is a tad longer, which we have embedded below; please note that you do not need a TikTok account to watch the latest video of the Pixel 9.
Surprisingly, the second video contains another pink Pixel 9. Regardless, the newer video reveals the device's display for the first time, which appears to have just as thin bezels as the outgoing Pixel 8 (curr. $699 on Amazon), if not slightly thinner. Likewise, the Pixel 9 has a flat display, behind which sits a punch-hole front-facing camera.
Meanwhile, although the back of this year's smaller Pixel flagship continues to feature two rear-facing cameras, Google has protected these with a much thicker camera bar that no longer blends into its mid-frame. Instead, the Pixel 9 borrows from the design language of the Pixel Fold, which Google is expected to replace with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. On top of that, the Pixel 9 has a much flatter frame than its predecessor. As a result, it looks more like recent Apple iPhones in this regard than members of the Pixel 7 or Pixel 8 series smartphones.
