Google is gearing up for the launch of its next mid-range phone, the Pixel 6a. The Pixel 5a's successor is expected to make its debut soon, and word on the grapevine now claims that the phone has entered production in Asia.
As revealed by Mukul Sharma, the mid-range Pixel 6a has now entered serial production in several Asian countries, indicating an imminent launch. That's an important detail as the availability of Google's phones has generally been iffy in Asia—recent Pixel models have only been available in Taiwan and Singapore at best. This could signify an expansion attempt by Google.
It's unknown when exactly the Pixel 6a will make its debut. Some reports claimed the phone could be announced at I/O, which is scheduled for May 11. The Pixel 3a and 3a XL were announced at that event in 2019. The Pixel 4a and 5a both debuted in August, however, so an I/O announcement for the Pixel 6a is far from a certainty.
