Budget-oriented gaming laptops with an Nvidia RTX 4060 under US$1,000 usually come with subpar displays and reduced connectivity options, but this is not really the case with Gigabyte’s G6 KF model currently on sale at B&H and Newegg. The only real downside for this G6 model is the 75 W limitation on the TGP.

The laptop is powered by Intel’s i7-13620H CPU with 4 E-cores and 6 P-cores that can boost to 4.9 GHz. This is coupled with 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM upgradable to 64 GB and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. There is an additional M.2 slot for further storage expansion but that one is limited to PCIe 3.0 X4 speeds.

While the RTX 4060 is somewhat limited with the 75 W TGP, this should not be a problem since the display only supports a maximum resolution of 1920 X 1200. Additionally, the 16-inch display comes with a 165 Hz IPS panel able to reproduce 100% sRGB color space and it is reasonably bright at 300 nits.

At this price, the port selection is obviously missing Thunderbolt 4 connector, but it partially compensates with the inclusion of a microSD card reader. Also included are 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB 2.0, HDMI 2.1 and miniDP 1.4 video outputs, combo audio jack and 1 GbE jack. Wireless connectivity is offered through a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.2 card. With the 54 Wh battery, the laptop weighs 5 lbs (2.3 kg) and has a 0.99-inch (2.51 cm) profile.
