Gigabyte has announced two new high-end gaming laptops, the Aorus 17X and Aorus 15X. Both feature 240 Hz QHD screens, a 13th-generation Intel Alder Lake processor, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and a 99 Wh battery.

Gigabyte has refreshed the Gigabyte Aorus 17X gaming laptop with current-generation hardware from Intel and Nvidia weeks after it got the Alder Lake-HX treatment. Its smaller sibling, the Aorus 15X also gets the same treatment, but with a different, slightly lower-speed SKU. The price and availability of both laptops will be announced later.

Starting with the Gigabyte Aorus 17X, one can configure it with Intel's shiny new Core i9-13950HX processor. The 55 Watt Raptor Lake behemoth has eight Raptor Cove and sixteen Gracemont cores. It can boost up to 5.5 GHz on one core, but that may come at a tremendous power cost (157 Watts). For the graphics card, one gets an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. Unfortunately, Gigabyte has neglected to mention the Aorus 17X's memory and storage options, only saying that it supports DDR5-5600 RAM. Lastly, the gaming laptop features a 17.3-inch QHD panel clocked at 240 Hz.

The smaller Gigabyte Aorus 15X packs the same 240 Hz QHD display but in a 15.6-inch form factor. As mentioned earlier, it uses an Intel core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake processor, which is identical to the Core i9-13950HX specs-wise, except for its boost clocks. Thankfully, the graphics card option remains unchanged with the GeForce RTX 4090, although its max TDP could be adjusted a bit to keep thermals in check. Once again, information about its memory and storage remains unknown but hopefully should emerge soon.

Gigabyte has used a CNC aluminium alloy chassis for the Aorus 17X and Aorus 15X. Thermals are kept in check by the company's in-house Windforce cooling technology. An RGB strip is included at the back to complete the gamer aesthetic, along with the Gigabyte logo. Both SKUs have a 99 Wh battery and can output video to up to three devices.
