Geekom QS Series mini PC with Snapdragon X Elite SoC teased for the first time
It seems that the mini PC segment will soon witness a seismic shift with the arrival of Qualcomm's desktop-class Snapdragon X Elite SoC, and prominent brand Geekom will be among the first to do so. A teaser for the brand's upcoming QS series was leaked on Weibo, and it's only a matter of time before competing brands follow suit.
Unfortunately, the leaked teaser, which can be found below, was inexcusably sparse on details. It simply states that the system will boast the Snapdragon X Elite SoC, and offers a glimpse at the system's design. The QS Series looks like any other mini PC from the exterior, with a couple of ports on the front and the side, and a Mac mini-style enclosure.
There is no word on pricing or availability either, and it would be fair to state that the product's pricing will be instrumental in determining its success. The 12-core Snapdragon X Elite is no slouch, and keeps up with Apple's M4 SoC in most benchmarks. Software support, on the other hand, is hit or miss at best, but for most casual users, the platform is plenty powerful and capable. With more details expected soon, we have no option but to wait and see if Geekom's gamble pays off.
