Gaudio Lab has released Gaudio Studio for Android and Apple smartphones. The app uses the company's proprietary GSEP (Gaudio source SEParation) AI to separate songs into individual vocal and instrument stems, allowing musicians to listen to and reuse the parts that they want for new remixes or performances.
One of the basic features of Gaudio Studio is background noise reduction. The AI-powered app recognizes what the human voice is like and uses that knowledge to separate vocals from the background noise. Users can adjust the volume of the separated tracks for a new remix that enhances the vocals, while removing or keeping some of the background noise.
The key feature of the app is the ability to separate music into individual stems. GSEP AI can identify vocals, bass, drums, electric guitar, and piano within a song, then cleanly separate each into individual tracks. These tracks can be remixed or used for follow-along performances.
The app comes with a free 20-minute trial, then credits must be purchased to extend the usage. Fifty minutes can be added for $7, 200 minutes for $16, and 1000 minutes for $50. In all cases, the maximum file length of a song for vocal removal is ten minutes. Recordings in a variety of formats can be used, including MP3 and MP4 files, and YouTube links. Processed stems can be output as MP3 files during the trial mode, while WAV output is available in paid mode.
Naturally, even the best AI software cannot restore poorly recorded vocals, so a good microphone (like this one for the iPhone on Amazon) is a must when recording performances.
