Garmin Connect: Support now offered for popular navigation app

Garmin Connect can already synchronise with numerous third-party services. Arguably, the most popular of these is Strava, although that relationship has become strained in recent years. Now, OpenStreetMap Automated Navigation Directions (OsmAnd) has announced improved integration with Garmin's Connect platform.
Specifically, one can now synchronise OsmAnd with Garmin Connect. In a blog post, the former clarifies that one can enable the feature by signing in to their OsmAnd web account and navigating through the OsmAnd Account section to Connected Apps and then clicking 'Connect'. After reproducing these steps, OsmAnd should redirect to the Garmin Connect login page so that one can authorise OsmAnd account access.
A few caveats exist, though. For instance, OsmAnd requires a Pro subscription, for which it charges $5.99 monthly or $39.99 annually. Also, one can synchronise activities from the past 30 days; older activities must be imported manually. Once authorised, OsmAnd should show Garmin Connect activities as tracks with waypoints stored in a dedicated folder.
As far as we can tell, OsmAnd supports all Garmin devices that integrate with Garmin Connect. Hence, syncing will occur on smartwatches like the Forerunner 165 through to the Fenix 8 Pro or cycling computers like the Edge 550 or Edge 1050 (curr. $599 on Amazon). Please see OsmAnd's blog post for more details.
