Garmin has announced a new Fenix 6 and MARQ smartwatch update, public Beta version 23.80. The latest software will be available for all models, such as the Fenix 6X Pro and MARQ Adventurer. The change log is relatively small, with just three updates. Two new Settings app shortcut tools have been added, Power Control and Hot Keys. The latter enables you to choose a key or combination of keys and link it to a specific function.
Garmin has also fixed a UI bug that flared up when reordering activities on the activity list. Finally, the company has resolved a potential issue with the Treadmill Calibration tool; the feature lets you match your steps logged on the watch to those registered on your workout machine. Garmin notes that the update will be automatically delivered to eligible wearables, with the Garmin Connect app checking for updates daily. The company also flagged that downloading and installing the latest software could take several hours.
Beta version 23.80 follows the public Alpha 23.73 update, released earlier this month. This software added a new tool, the Exercise Load graph, and a new Backcountry snowboarding activity. Software version 23.80 was released as part of the Garmin Beta Program, which enables users to try out new features before a public release. You can sign up for the Beta Program via Garmin Connect.
