The Garmin Instinct Crossover smartwatch appears to have been leaked. Pages on the brand’s Taiwanese website showed a new outdoor watch, rumored to launch later this year. The product page for part 010-02730-23 showed three versions of the watch, Black, Solar - Tactical Edition and Solar - Graphite. The solar models will feature solar batteries, while the Tactical Edition will have bonus features such as night vision and stealth modes.
The Instinct Crossover seems to have similarities to the Instinct model, such as a 176 by 176 px resolution and a rounded face. The listing said the gadget would have up to 28 days of battery life in Smart Watch Mode or up to 30 days with the solar charging ability. The wearable also has dual format GPS, the ability to receive notifications from a connected Android or iOS smartphone. Plus, you can use the device to make contactless payments with Garmin Pay.
The key difference between the two wearables appears to be the Crossover’s hybrid nature. This model has an analogue clock with luminescent physical watch hands laid over the display. RevoDrive auto-calibration technology ensures that the hands are accurate despite any shocks the watch may encounter. Another recent finding was an FCC filing under number IPH-04348 for a Hybrid Smartwatch with built-in NFC, ANT+ and Bluetooth; it could be that this refers to the Instinct Crossover device. It is currently unclear exactly when the Garmin Instinct Crossover smartwatch will be available, in which markets it will launch or how much it will cost.
