Garmin software update for Fenix 7 and Epix 2 smartwatches arrives with new Morning Report feature
The Garmin Alpha version 10.33 software update is now available for its Fenix 7, Fenix 7S, Fenix 7X, Epix 2, Enduro 2 and Quatix 7 smartwatches. New features include Tides glance and Morning Report, a daily summary which can display information such as your Body Battery, Calendar, Step Goal and the weather.
The new software adds various activities to the wearables, such as Sail Race, Backcountry Snowboard and Disc Golf. Haptic feedback has been added to more places, such as scrolling lists, and nautical unit options are available for Boat, Sail and Sail Race activities. Plus, the watches now support a heart rate chest strap in the Yoga/Breathwork/Health Snapshot. Fixes in Alpha version 10.33 resolve issues like a problem where sleep data would stop displaying in the data, a map download cancellation bug, and general slowness in the segments list. Problems with Do Not Disturb switching off and an occasional shutdown when editing map data fields have also been fixed.
Improvements to the Daily Suggested Workout UI, map panning and zooming, Wi-Fi speed and settings interaction with the Garmin Connect app have been made. The Alpha update is not automatically pushed to the smartwatches but must be manually downloaded and installed. Version 10.33 ensures you have the latest GPS, Wireless and Sensor Hub software versions.
