Tuxedo has now revealed the Intel-powered variant of its InfinityBook Max 15 laptop. Packing a Core Ultra 7 255H CPU paired with up to 128 GB of memory and the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, the Max 15 aims to combine good performance with a sleek and minimal enclosure.
The 16-core Intel Core Ultra 7 255H is a decent CPU found in many performance-oriented laptops and mini PCs, packing 6 Lion Cove P-cores, 8 Skymont E-Cores, and 2 Skymont LP E-cores. In the Cinebench 2024 multithreaded benchmark, the 255H manages to score around 1,000 points, which is a pretty respectable number. In simpler terms, the CPU should be able to handle the vast majority of moderately intensive workloads.
Large 15.3-inch display with 300 Hz refresh rate
Impressively, the InfinityBook Max 15 sports a 15.3-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. With a shockingly high 300 Hz refresh rate, the Max 15's display will undoubtedly be a treat for fast-paced gaming. Tuxedo also claims 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut, which should make content consumption a delight on the gaming laptop. The display peaks at a claimed 500 nits of brightness, and does not feature any local-dimming support.
GPU options are pretty limited, with only the GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop and RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs on offer. Both the cards boast a maximum TGP of 115 watts, and 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. The 5070 sports almost 38% more CUDA cores than the 5060, granting it an undeniable performance advantage. According to Tuxedo, the 5070-powered laptop should, however, be only around 15% faster than its cheaper sibling.
The InfinityBook Max 16's cooling system will definitely determine the laptop's real-world performance. Whether or not it manages to perform well under load can only be revealed once independent reviewers get their hands on the system. Tuxedo does claim that the cooling system should be able to handle up to 165 watts, but its actual performance remains to be seen.
As mentioned earlier, the gaming laptop can be fitted with up to 128 GB of DDR5-6400 memory, and up to 8 TB of PCIe 4.0 solid-state storage. A 99 Wh battery is also present. The I/O on offer is pretty decent as well, packing the following ports:
- Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (100W PD, DP 1.4a)
- HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0
- Mini DisplayPort 2.1
- 1G Ethernet, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3
- Triple USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 3.5 mm audio jack
