Samsung has two new wearables in store for us, the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch Active 4. Both smartwatches are expected to be launched sometime in Q2, 2021, and will likely be the first Samsung devices to run WearOS instead of Tizen.

Samsung has a lot in store for us in H2, 2021. For starters, we'll get to see Samsung's first-ever Exynos-powered laptop and AMD Radeon mobile GPU debut alongside the Exynos 2200. Then there are the Exynos 851 and Exynos 1200 mobile chipsets. We can add two new wearables, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4, to that list, if a new leak is to be believed.

The information comes from seasoned tipster Ice Universe, who has been responsible for quite a few Samsung-related leaks in the recent past. The Galaxy Watch 4 is a direct successor to the nearly six-month-old Galaxy Watch 3. The Galaxy Watch Active 4, on the other hand, could be the Galaxy Watch Active 3 in reality. Regardless of its name, it is the third of its kind in the Galaxy Watch Active series.

However, the lingering question on everyone's mind is: will the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 run WearOS or Tizen. We found evidence of the latter some time ago, so they could herald in an entirely new line of Samsung wearables. A six-month gap between two smartwatch releases is a tad too little, but a completely new OS can be considered a significant enough upgrade to warrant their somewhat untimely release.
