Recent reports strongly hint at the return of the Galaxy A8x line of phones in 2021. Given its first generation's interesting design, like that of the Asus ZenFone (or OPPO N, back in its day) series, the more recent "A82" leaks may have raised hopes of a reprieve from the rigid, triple-camera esthetics set out for phones of its kind this year.
However, the latest spoiler on this subject indicate that the A82 5G, or possibly Galaxy Quantum2, will turn out looking very much like an A52 or A72 in different colors. Now, this idea has gained more weight thanks to photos of an identical-looking phone posted by Ice Universe on Weibo.
This widely-regarded and often highly accurate tipster claims to have found this "A82" as a demo unit in a retail store. It, as in its last alleged live images, does indeed have that 2021 Galaxy A look, not to mention a display with the central punch-hole that may definitively kill off any chance of the phone launching with extra moving parts.
Therefore, it now looks like Samsung is not taking the chance on a second A80 - not in 2021, at least. On the other hand, the Galaxy A82/Quantum2 might be worthwhile for its internals. It is slated to run on the Snapdragon 855+, which, while being far from a flagship SoC at this point, could form the basis for a powerful mid-tier device should it launch in a new phone soon.
