The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is an Android phone with the more or less up-to-date Snapdragon 750G processor - and an HD display, which, for a 2021 mid-ranger, is underwhelming. Nevertheless, it now seems it is headed to a new market under a slightly different name.
The Samsung Galaxy M42, as displayed in its new Amazon.in teaser, does look very like the A42, with its waterdrop notch and rear panel finished in distinctive wide horizontal hoops. The upcoming M-series entrant also still has quad rear cameras. It also, according to a new entry to the relevant regulatory database, is approved to use NFC.
It is possible the M42 might have some variations from its A-line origins that are yet to be revealed. Then again, as it is currently being promoted with Samsung Knox as a selling point, this is looking unlikely. Its pricing will be revealed on April 28, 2021.
