GMKtec has now launched the K12 globally, just a few days after presenting the same mini-PC in China. For context, the K12 has arrived hot on the heels of the EVO-T1 (curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon) that landed a couple of weeks ago. At the time of writing, the latter only comes with a Core Ultra 9 285H processor from Intel's Arrow Lake family.
By contrast, GMKtec equips the K12 with the unusually-named Ryzen 7 H 255. A China-only APU, the Ryzen 7 H 255 sits within AMD's Hawk Point family with 8 Zen 4 cores and a Radeon 780M iGPU that can pull up to 70 W in performance. According to the company, it has paired the relatively powerful APU with the following ports:
- 2 x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (Realtek 8125BG)
- 2× 3.5 mm jack
- 1x Clear CMOS
- 1x DC power
- 1× DisplayPort 1.4
- 1× HDMI 2.1
- 1× OCuLink (PCIe Gen4× 4)
- 2× USB 2.0 Type-A
- 3× USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
- 1× USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (PD/DP/Data)
- 1x USB4
In other words, the K12 can be connected to OCuLink or USB4 eGPU docks. Currently, GMKtec's latest mini-PC starts at $409.99 as a barebones unit without a Windows licence, RAM or storage. The company also offers pre-populated options though, albeit only with a 1 TB SSD in both cases. As it stands, GMKtec charges $549.99 for the K12 with 32 GB of RAM and $609.99 for its 64 GB of RAM counterpart.
