The Galaxy Z Flip is currently accepted as the name of Samsung's next upcoming foldable phone. It is anticipated that it will be a clamshell device with a central punch-hole camera. New renders include further possible attributes, such as a dual outward-facing camera and the Z Flip's hinge mechanism.

Based on the latest leaks from typically reliable sources, Samsung is expected to launch a second-gen foldable at the next Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the more conventional S20 series. This new device is thought to be a less than direct successor to the Galaxy Fold, but rather a more mid-range product with a different form-factor.

In other words, the Galaxy Z Flip is most likely to be the world's 2nd nouveau clamshell phone, following the Moto Razr 2020 into what may become a distinct trend in smartphone design. A new set of renders reiterates this notion, and may refine existing ideas of how the Galaxy Z Flip is supposed to look.

The most original aspect of this new work - which comes in photo and video formats - concern shots of the rear of this device. It hints at dual main cameras for the Z Flip, found on the "upper half" of the clamshell and most reminiscent of those of the OnePlus 5 series.

One of the foldable phone's most interesting components - the hinge - is also visible in these renders. It has some Samsung branding, but may not be visible when the Z Flip is fully opened. On this note, the new artwork suggests a kind of raised bezel all around the device's flexible display.

This may be slightly disappointing for fans of edge-to-edge screens, yet reassuring to those familiar with the foldable category's reputation for durability. In addition, this bezel is an improvement on the rather cheap-looking plastic-y edges seen in earlier images. Finally, the central punch-hole is still present here, although it blends into a wallpaper design one might expect from Samsung.

All in all, these renders make for an attractive enough premium mid-ranger of the future. However, it does not offer any further information on the Galaxy Z Flip's possible internals. We may have to wait until February 11, 2020 for that information.
