Update: Now Official | Frank Azor: The Dell XPS 15 9570 is being targeted for availability this week
Looks like Dell kept its word of making the XPS 15 9570 available this week. The notebook is now available for customization and ordering from Dell's official web page. There are currently two configurations listed as of this writing. The current basic variant is the Core i7-8750H-powered FHD non-touch version that starts from US$1,499.99. This tops up at 16 GB RAM but the SSD storage can be maxed out at 1 TB and the display upgraded to a 4K touch screen for US$400 a piece.
The higher-end XPS 15 9570 4K touch model starts at US$2,549.99. The base version comes with the Core i7-8750H CPU but there is an upgrade option for the Core i9-8950HK for an extra US$350. This version comes pre-configured with 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and a 4K touch display.
Both the above configuration options come with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU with 4 GB VRAM. While we know that the GPU is a Max-Q variant, the official listing does not mention it explicitly. We will, of course, extensively review the laptop and give you all the juicy info as soon as we get our hands on it so stay tuned.
If you happen to order one today in the US using Dell's Express Delivery, you should be able to get it delivered by May 25. For standard deliveries, the listed date is June 1.
The product listing page below has been updated with the new link. Other configuration options, such as the Core i5-8300H variant, will be gradually made available soon.
Thanks to reader Matthias in the comments below for the tip.
We're almost there, folks. The Dell XPS 15 9570 is likely to be available for ordering from Dell's website anytime this week. Dell's VP General Manager of Alienware, Gaming and XPS, Frank Azor, has confirmed the same to a query on Twitter. Actually, Azor tweeted last month that they were targeting an April-end launch but apparently, that seems to have gotten delayed for some reason. Now, it looks like it will only be a matter of hours before you can finally order one.
The XPS 15 9570 was made available for pre-order via a Dell-Cashstar promo but that met with sharp criticism from prospective buyers despite Dell assuring customers otherwise. The promo page's language aside, there was no option available for buyers to customize the product or opt for the Core i9 version.
Also, the official product listing for the XPS 15 9570 is now live on Dell.com (check the Source link below) but the page does not offer any configuration or purchase options yet. Even while the XPS 15 2-in-1 9575 was being launched, Azor gave a timeline as to the likely date of availability and his words did materialize as expected. Therefore, it should not be too long now before you can snag an XPS 15 9570 for yourself. The actual shipping dates, however, could be still a few weeks away as it happened with the XPS 15 2-in-1 9575. We also are not sure whether the Core i9 model will be available for purchase on Day 1.
Again, do remember that things can still get delayed despite Azor's positive assurance as there could be unforeseen issues prior to availability. We are closely tracking the XPS 15 9570's availability and will keep you updated on all developments. In the meantime, let us know in the comments below if you're planning on ordering one anytime soon.
