Eurocom Sky X9 workstation now available for $3449 USD
Announced in early October, the 17.3-inch Sky X9 series is Eurocom's high-end solution for both gaming and workstation needs. "Standard" high-end gaming notebooks like the Asus ROG series or MSI G series are typically more closed and less modular than the Clevo notebooks from Eurocom. Additionally, the Sky X9 can be equipped with displays that promise 100 percent AdobeRGB coverage compared to just 60 to 70 percent on most other high-end notebooks.
“We built the EUROCOM Sky X9 to be the ultimate mobile workstation for professionals who need the most powerful computer system for on the go deployment.", says Eurocom in its press release. The reseller is no stranger when it comes to incorporating desktop-level components and performance into a portable form factor.
Core specifications include enthusiast-level hardware such as up to a desktop Core i7-6700K, 64 GB DDR4 RAM via 4x SODIMM slots, 200 Watt GTX 980 MXM 3.0 GPU, large heat pipes with 7 Carat thermal compound, and 4x internal storage drives. Users can also pre-configure with 2x MXM 3.0 slots for GTX 980M SLI instead of just a single GTX 980. We recommend checking out the configuration page for a complete list of features that the notebook carries.
The Eurocom X8 and P5 Pro Extreme are some of the fastest notebooks we have ever tested. The Sky X9 will likely supplant both models when all is said and done. Expect a full review on the similar Sky DLX7 in the coming weeks.
