Well, it is a good laptop overall but the competition is hard. You get a machine that probably wouldn’t get too hot, has good enough 1080p display for gaming and movies, solid looks and enough space to house another HDD/SSD or an mSata drive. The gaming performance for the price is very high and one of the best with most games running well on very high settings, including Crysis 3.

The Eurocom Shark 3 (Clevo W355SS chassis) is a solid if not terribly exciting 15.6-inch gaming notebook. It has a no-frills design as expected from a Clevo chassis; the plastic exterior is bested by other brands that market more on design like Alienware. That aside the Shark 3 ticks all the right boxes to get our recommendation. We liked its colorful 1080p anti-glare display, excellent overall performance for all tasks including the latest games, good keyboard and touchpad, plentiful port selection, great battery life for a desktop replacement and reasonable starting price. The build quality could be stronger but it’s passable if an attractive design isn’t paramount. The chassis is thicker than a typical 15.6-inch notebook at 1.68 inches but with the benefit of improved cooling and upgrade options; it’s still relatively light however (5.95 lbs)

Shark attack. Eurocom's fourth generation Shark gets an updated chassis with GTX 960M graphics. Is this mainstream-level gaming notebook a better deal than more well-known competitors?

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i5:
4200M: Haswell-based dual-core processor clocked at 2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.1 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4940MX: Mobile quad-core processor based on the Haswell architecture. Fastest CPU in Q1/2014 with an unlocked multiplier.
4720HQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.6 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
