Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A9+ in 2023, and the affordable tablet has already been updated with a new offering, the A11+. Now, while the newer version brings a handful of improvements, the one from 2023 is still worth purchasing, especially when it's on sale.
Speaking of which, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is currently part of early Black Friday deals, and the top-end configuration of the tablet is now down by $140 on Best Buy. With this limited-time discount in place, the tablet can be purchased for just $170.
For those wondering, the configuration that's on sale is the Galaxy Tab A9+ with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It's the WiFi variant, and one good part about the tablet is that it features a microSDXC slot. This enables the users to expand the storage further with a microSD card (512 GB SanDisk UHS-I curr. $37.99 on Amazon).
The SD card slot isn't the only highlight of the Galaxy Tab A9+. As we noted in our in-depth review, the tablet has a good display for its class. The 11-inch TFT LCD panel has a 90 Hz refresh rate as well, offering smooth visuals. We also found that the screen can get reasonably bright.
Another notable aspect of the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is support for DeX, which, of course, comes with limitations. Under the hood, this affordable tablet packs the Snapdragon 695, and this SoC has handled our tests reasonably well. However, this 2021 mid-range chip will show its age when put against heavy tasks.
While the 7,040 mAh battery is another notable highlight, as it lets the tablet offer decent runtimes, it charges at 15 W, which is very slow. We also didn't like that Samsung didn't integrate a fingerprint sensor, making the tablet stick with dated security features.
