EarFun Air 2: Waterproof TWS headphones can be charged wirelessly
The manufacturer EarFun is launching new headphones on the market with the Air 2. These models are available in a black and a white version at a price of around 50 euros - although the manufacturer states that they will not be available until March.
The headphones are advertised with IPX7 certification, and should, therefore, be protected against damage from dust and water ingress. Additionally manufacturer developed its own SweatShield technology, designed to keep sweat out. 10-millimeter drivers are installed, and the LDAC audio codec with up to 990 kbit/s and 96 kHz/24 bits audio are supported. Data is transmitted via Bluetooth 5.3, and a gaming mode is said to result in a latency of less than 55 milliseconds, which is particularly relevant for video games.
Charging should not only be possible via USB, but wireless charging is also supported. The battery life of the individual earphones is specified at up to 9 hours, with multiple intermediate charges using the charging case, the total runtime is estimated at up to 40 hours.
There is no active noise cancelation, but there are 4 microphones to suppress disturbing ambient noise during calls. The touch buttons can be activated, and equalizers configured using an app. It should be possible to connect to two devices simultaneously with the Air 2. The range of basically comparable products is also extremely large.
