The MSI Vector 16 HX AI (2025) impressed in our detailed review, where we noted that the gaming laptop offers sustained CPU and GPU performance as well as plenty of upgrade options and two Thunderbolt 5 ports. Add in a high-refresh-rate display, and the MSI Vector 16 HX AI becomes a pretty good option.

MSI Vector 16 HX AI specs

The MSI Vector 16 HX AI on sale is an upper mid-range variant with a Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, an RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, a full-sized per-key RGB keyboard, and a 144 Hz FHD+ display. There are also plenty of ports, including essentials like Thunderbolt connectors, Type-A, HDMI 2.1, and an SD card reader.

On the inside, MSI has outfitted the Vector 16 HX AI with two fans and multiple cooper heat pipes to manage thermals, two SO-DIMM slots for RAM, and two M.2 slots for storage upgrades. There is also a large 90 Wh battery.

Performance-wise, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI is suited for QHD/FHD gaming as shown by our review. The RTX 5070 Ti laptop is much more powerful than the uninspiring RTX 5070. As such, the 12 GB GPU will smoothly run modern AAA games at high/ultra settings without any issues. For instance, the Vector 16 HX AI can run Horizon Forbidden West, a fantastic-looking game, at more than 70 FPS at QHD/ultra.

The 20-core Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU complements the RTX 5070 Ti by offering fast performance in both single and multi-core workloads.

Finally, despite being a power-hungry gaming laptop, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI lasted for around 7 hours in our WLAN test. So, you can almost squeeze a full workday out of the laptop if you stick to routine operation.

All in all, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI is a compelling QHD/FHD gamer. At just $1,549.99 and with two free games, the notebook is definitely worth looking into.
