DJI Neo: Pocket-sized drone shown again before official release in size comparison with DJI Mini 4 Pro drone
Jasper Ellens and others have revealed more details about the Neo, one of DJI's next drones and an apparent direct rival to the HoverAIR X1 (curr. $349 on Amazon). For context, the company also appears to have the Air 3S and Mavic 4 in development, although it remains to be seen when either of these will be available. Incidentally, new information relating to the Air 3S has recently turned up online too, which we have covered separately.
Seemingly, the Neo will be the first of the three to arrive. Please note that DJI has not officially commented on new drone release yet. However, Neo retail packaging has already leaked online, which has proven a sure sign in the past that DJI is close to unveiling a new device. According to Ellens, the Neo will measure just 157 x 130 x 49 mm, adding to the drone's 135 g weight that was already known.
If accurate, then this would make the Neo much wider than the existing Mini 4 Pro in its folded state. Thus, the former will not necessarily be that much more compact than DJI's existing drones in all aspects. Still, the Neo will be small enough to take off from your palm, which it appears DJI will advertise when it eventually launches the drone. Nonetheless, the Neo should still be capable of recording stabilised 4K footage with subject tracking and QuickShots support, among other features.
