Leaker Jasper Ellens claims to have 'stumbled upon' DJI's Mini 5 Pro webshop description before the drone's official release. To recap, the company's next Mini series drone has already been unboxed and flown by a YouTuber. Moreover, the same drone has now popped up on a Cypriot DJI reseller.
Based on Ellens' latest leak, DJI will lean heavily on the Mini 5 Pro's new CMOS camera sensor to distinguish it from the existing Mini 4 Pro (curr. $759 on Amazon). Reiterating prior evidence, the Mini 5 Pro contains a 50 MP CMOS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 1-inch optical format, which DJI claims will improve low-light performance over the 48 MP, 1/1.3-inch and f/1.7 sensor in the Mini 4 Pro.
On top of that, the new camera will offer up to 14 stops of dynamic range when shooting 4K and 60 FPS HDR videos with 10-bit D-Log M and HLG modes also supported. The Mini 5 Pro will be capable of 'true vertical shooting' courtesy of its gimbal that can rotate up to 225° when needed. Apparently, DJI has improved its 360° ActiveTrack technology as well, which can track objects at up to 15 m/son the Mini 5 Pro.
The Mini 5 Pro will be the first DJI drone to support OcuSync 4+ or OcuSync 4 Plus technology, too. While the differences from the existing OcuSync 4 are unknown at this stage, the Mini 5 Pro will offer up to 20 km of video transmission in the US with 36-minute flight times from its new Intelligent Flight batteries. Currently, DJI is expected to unveil the Mini 5 Pro globally by September 18, 2025.
