Hands-on images of the DJI Avata's first-person view (FPV) goggles have leaked online, confirming the accessory's design. Supposedly, the upcoming drone has taken another critical step on its road to market too.

@DealsDrone and @OsitaLV have shared photos of the DJI Goggles 2, the first-person view (FPV) goggles that DJI is expected to announce alongside the Avata. To recap, the DJI Avata is rumoured to replace the DJI FPV. Originally tipped for a July release, @DealsDrone claimed that DJI had delayed the Avata's launch because of factory changes.

Incidentally, the hands-on images of the DJI Goggles 2 match an earlier render. In short, DJI appears to have reduced the footprint of its FPV headset while including removable antennas. Also, DJI has included two cooling vents, although it is unclear why at this stage. Regardless, the DJI Goggles 2 look more comfortable to wear than the outgoing DJI Goggles.

According to @OsitaLV, DJI has sent Avata units to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). In short, KOLs are the final step before DJI mass-produces a product. In other words, the company may not be that far away from releasing the Avata, which should launch alongside the DJI Goggles 2. Reputedly, the DJI Avata will feature the same 48 MP and 1/1.3-inch camera as the Mini 3 Pro. Although the camera can shoot videos at 4K and 60 FPS, there is no guarantee that the DJI Goggles 2 will improve upon its predecessor's 3,840 x 1,080-pixel resolution, or 1,920 x 1,080 pixels per eye.
