Cyberpunk 2077 had a huge number of unique NPCs before GTA 6, and this mod brings them back

We’ve been seeing tons of new information about GTA 6 popping up as the launch approaches. Rockstar assembled a dedicated team to work on just the NPCs in the game, giving them unique looks, dialogue, and personalities. Well, guess what, Cyberpunk 2077 did it six years ago, but most of those NPCs never made it to the final game.
A mod created by ‘dnbnhlp’ and shared on Nexus Mods apparently brings back the crowd variety that Cyberpunk 2077 was originally meant to have. Called ‘Crowd Variety Restored,’ the mod enables over 2,200 unused crowd looks that more than double what is present in the stock game. These NPCs come with unique outfits, new colors, hairstyles, cyberware, and more.
The modder shared some highlights of the mod:
This variety is said to bring more life to Night City without changing any quest-related NPCs. With it enabled, character models that look alike get different outfits, though their animations may still stay the same.
Furthermore, there are also NPC walking animations that never made it to the final game. The same modder has created a mod called ‘Crowd Walks Restored,’ and it does exactly that. When paired with the ‘Crowd Variety Restored’ mod, Night City civilians get different walks, including worried, sad, angry, calm, confident, and more. This adds more variety to the game, as it was originally intended.
Of course, that doesn't mean these NPCs will be as unique as in GTA 6. The interactions will still be fairly limited, just like the overall animation pool.
