Our recent review shows that with the S14, Ninkear offers a 14-inch notebook that is specifically designed for price-conscious users. Thanks to the built-in AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS with six cores and twelve threads, the device offers sufficient performance for office work, Internet use, and multimedia applications. However, the integrated Radeon graphics unit is only partially sufficient for computing-intensive software or modern games.
The display is one of the most positive features: the built-in IPS panel impresses with a sharp 2K resolution, almost complete sRGB color space coverage, and stable viewing angles. With a brightness of around 360 cd/m², it is bright enough for indoor use. Limitations arise from the glossy surface, which can cause annoying reflections in bright environments. The casing consists of a combination of metal and plastic elements and therefore has a higher quality appearance than pure plastic models but does not quite achieve the stability and feel of premium devices. The Ninkear S14 is predominantly quiet in everyday use; the fan only becomes clearly audible under full load.
There are slight compromises in terms of energy efficiency, but these are bearable considering the overall excellent price-performance ratio. The integrated 60 Wh battery ensures long runtimes of up to 9.5 hours in the WLAN test - enough for a working day.
Overall, the Ninkear S14 scores with an excellent price-performance ratio. For less than 630 Euros (~$732) you get a particularly light and compact notebook that impresses with its high-resolution display, decent build quality, and sufficient everyday performance - an attractive choice for pupils, students, and office users.
