Chinese manufacturer Chuwi has announced through its Spanish Facebook page its latest 2-in-1 detachable called the Vi10 Plus aimed at competitors like the Microsoft Surface 3. Unlike most detachables and tablets, the Vi10 Plus will have dual boot options right from the start for users to choose between Windows 10 and Remix OS 2.0. This latter operating system is based on Android and can theoretically allow users to install Android apps from the Play Store while still having support for external mice and keyboards.
Core specifications share some similarities to the Surface 3:
- 10.8-inch FHD display, 3:2 aspect ratio, 450 nit brightness
- Intel Atom Cherry Trail x5 SoC w/ IGP Gen. 8
- 2 GB/4 GB RAM
- 32 GB/64 GB internal storage w/ MicroSD support
- 2 MP front and rear cameras
- USB Type-C w/ Quick Charge
- 8400 mAh battery
- 276.4 x 184.8 x 8.8 mm
- 686.5 g
While the manufacturer has not detailed the exact Cherry Trail processor used, it will likely be the Z8300 based on the Gen. 8 IGP.
Chuwi will launch the Vi10 Plus by the end of this month in two SKUs (2 GB RAM/32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage), but prices have yet to be announced. The magnetic keyboard cover and active stylus will not be included with the base package and will be sold separately.
