Case manufacturer reveals Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 10 III designs ahead of their April 14 launch
Sony has already announced that it will be launching new products on April 14, but it has not teased what devices will be arriving next Wednesday. However, Olixar has confirmed that Sony plans to reveal at least the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 10 III, its follow-ups to the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II.
Unsurprisingly, the pair looks like their predecessors, which has already been outlined in various leaks. In fact, the renders are so close to past renders that OnLeaks has alleged that Olixar has plagiarised his work. Undoubtedly, some bear an uncanny resemblance. Either way, the Xperia 1 III has Sony's trademark 21:9 design, which is rumoured to feature a 6.5-inch OLED display with a 4K native resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 1,300 nit peak brightness.
Additionally, Sony has revised the rear-facing cameras on its flagship smartphone series, with a periscope lens joining the primary, ultra-wide and ToF cameras this year. You can read details about these cameras in our corresponding article.
Meanwhile, the Xperia 10 III has three rear-facing cameras, a front-firing mono speaker and a 6.0-inch display. Sony is expected to equip the Xperia 10 III with a mid-range Snapdragon 7 series SoC, along with a 12 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide. A Geekbench listing suggests that Sony has equipped the Xperia 10 III with a Snapdragon 765G, which would be a huge improvement from the Snapdragon 665 inside the Xperia 10 II.
