Bugatti Ceramique Edition One: The world's most luxurious smartwatch offers a mixture of stunning looks and useful features for an eye-watering price

The Kickstarter campaign for the first Bugatti smartwatch has just started and has already reached its goal of €50,000 (converted as a total of US$60,935). At the time of writing, 74 backers had already pledged €66,645 (US$81,203), with 28 days of the campaign still remaining. The amount of backers might seem small, but at an early bird price of €899 (US$1,095), each project contribution involves a substantial sum. The team involved with the wearable claims that the Bugatti Ceramique Edition One is the world’s most luxurious smartwatch, which considering its heady combination of beauty and brains, is a reasonable boast.

The Bugatti Ceramique Edition One smartwatch is available with three bezels: Le Noire, Pur Sport, and Divo. Fans of the Bugatti automobile manufacturer, which was founded in France in 1909 and is now owned by Volkswagen, will be familiar with the names as they reflect famous cars produced by the company. As “Bugatti” is now practically a synonym for a car with striking looks and incredible performance, VIITA has had to emulate that with the Bugatti smartwatch. From an aesthetic point of view the designers have succeeded, as the wearable looks stunning in its simplicity, and even the packaging involves sustainable wood and vegan leather.

Obviously a smartwatch buyer doesn’t purchase a new device based solely on looks, so the Bugatti Ceramique Edition One smartwatch also offers a full complement of features. There is a specs list published below, but the highlights include dual-sensor technology, GPS, regeneration status, bioage, water hydration levels, heart-rate tracking and variability, altitude, VO2 Max, and naturally for a Bugatti-branded smartwatch it can measure speed and acceleration. The watch has a 390x390 sapphire crystal AMOLED, 445-mAh battery (two weeks of life), and it is water resistant to 10 ATM. The Bugatti smartwatch can be synced with Android 7.0 smartphones and iOS 13.0 devices.

Pledging €899 (US$1,095) will get the backer a Bugatti Ceramique Edition One smartwatch that comes with one of the aforementioned bezels and no less than a 5-year warranty. Those who come a bit later to the party will have to back the project with €999 (US$1,217) to obtain the watch, but even then it’s a great discount off the expected retail price of €1,239 (US$1,509) and free international shipping is thrown in. The first smartwatches ordered should start being delivered in October, and it will no doubt look perfect on the wrist while driving a US$5.4 million Bugatti Divo.
