Bluetooth connectivity upgrade lands on latest Bose wireless earbuds

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and Ultra Open Earbuds have just received a Bluetooth upgrade. These two models can now pair with two devices at once, thanks to the recently added Bluetooth multipoint pairing. This will enable better multitasking when you're working with two devices at the same time.

Bose started rolling out this Bluetooth upgrade to the two pairs on July 10, but not all the users have received it yet. The update is set to reach all the customers gradually, and it can take a couple of weeks. To check if it's available, head over to the Bose App, connect the wireless buds to your phone, click Settings, and tap on Product Update.

After downloading and installing the update, your Bluetooth earbuds will reboot and reconnect with the phone. You will then see a Multipoint Connection option in the Source tab. Turn it on if you want to connect the buds to more than one device.

Bluetooth multipoint feature has been a standard feature for high-end wireless earbuds. Given the price tags of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and Ultra Open Earbuds, the absence of the feature at launch was seen as a downside. But now, both the pairs are a little more worthy than before.

Worth noting that the new update isn't just about the Bluetooth multipoint. It also brings a couple of bug fixes for the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (available on Amazon). Among the bug fixes are better connection stability and voice pickup optimizations.
