Treyarch has showcased a technical deep dive for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies’ final map, The Reckoning. The map, which will feature Janus Towers, was originally visible in the distance of Liberty Falls and was shown in the Shattered Veil ending.
The map launches alongside Black Ops 6’s Season 5, which will go live on August 7, 9 am PT/12 pm ET/5 pm GMT/6 pm CT on all platforms.
According to the Black Ops 6: Zombies Finale Intel Drop uploaded to YouTube, the final map will feature three towers that players can navigate using Personnel Launchers and Aether Elevators.
Players will start Round One in the Janus Headquarters reception area and will make their way to other levels of the towers and the map. Moreover, verticality is a big focus in the upcoming Black Ops 6: Zombies map, and players will have to rely on parachutes to drop to lower levels in case they miss the occasional Easter Egg.
The intel drop also revealed that sublevels of Tower Two feature a particle accelerator, which will occasionally shut off gravity and change gameplay significantly.
The newest Elite Zombie variant is the UberKlaus, a two-stage boss fight featuring a giant mecha Klaus and a second-phase agile core Klaus. Furthermore, Black Ops 6 Zombies: The Reckoning introduces an upgradable Aether Turret or Cannon dubbed Castor.
Last but not least is the new Wonder Weapon known as the Gorgofex Pistol. Gorgofex is a revolver-esque pistol that features two possible upgrades, which require players to complete different Easter Egg steps.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s first two Zombies maps were released on October 25, 2024. According to SteamDB, the game attracted a peak of 306,460 concurrent players on launch. However, there was a steep drop in concurrent player counts in the following months, but player count surged to 139,687 when Zombies DLC Map 2, The Shattered Veil, was released alongside Season 3.
The conflict between S.A.M. and Edward “Eddie” Richtofen, from Dimension 2210, will reach its climax in the Reckoning. It’s expected that the finale will build toward Black Ops 7: Zombies' storyline. Activision has yet to reveal details about Black Ops 7: Zombies.
So far, we’ve only received a Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 teaser trailer. Activision has been relatively tight-lipped, and no other credible information has been made available via the usual suspects. However, it has been confirmed that the game is slated to launch on November 14, 2025, for the Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC.
