BenQ has revealed the GV31 projector, now on sale in various countries worldwide. The portable gadget has been designed to throw movies onto your ceiling or wall, with a rotating lens allowing multiple viewing angles. The battery-powered device can play movies for up to 180 minutes or music for 300 minutes.

The GV31 is a 1080p projector that can produce up to 300 ANSI lumens brightness from its LED light source, expected to last up to 30,000 hours in ECO mode. The device also has proprietary CinematicColor technology to enhance the image, with 98% coverage of the Rec.709 color gamut. You can throw images up to 100-in (~254 cm) wide, with a 1.2 throw ratio, and tools like smart autofocus and auto vertical keystone quickly perfect the picture. The projector has a built-in 2.1 channel sound system featuring 4W tweeters and an 8W woofer; further speakers can be connected via Bluetooth.

Android TV allows you to stream content from various apps, control the device with voice commands, and wirelessly cast content from a mobile device via Chromecast or Apple AirPlay. You can also use Wi-Fi to cast music from your phone wirelessly. The multi-use USB port can power the projector or charge smaller devices. Other ports include HDMI 1.4b, USB-A 2.0 and audio jack. You can now buy the BenQ GV31 projector in countries like the UK, Australia and Singapore for £569/AU$999/SG$849. The pricing and release date for markets like North America and the EU remain unclear.
