Asus raises RTX 50 series graphics card prices

The expected Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU price increase is going official, with both Asus and Gigabyte bringing new pricing for their RTX 50 and AMD Radeon series alike.

Both board partners initially raised prices on Nvidia RTX 50 and AMD RX 9000 cards by 10-15% at the end of January, blaming the ongoing DRAM shortage. Since then, the increases have only compounded.

The clearest example comes from the RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB, as the card sold for roughly 7,200 yuan (about $1,064) in November 2025. By January's hike it had climbed to around 8,000 yuan, and within the past few weeks it jumped again to 9,299 yuan (about $1,374) before hitting 10,700 yuan ($1,581) most recently. That's a roughly 49% increase over the November baseline.

Asus' custom cards followed suit with the TUF Gaming RTX 5080, which retailed for $1,199 last winter and is now listed as discounted to $1,595 on Amazon, a 33% jump. The ROG Strix RTX 5080 OC has fared even worse, launching at $1,499 and now reaching as high as $2,099, a 40% increase and pricier than Nvidia's own RTX 5090 Founders Edition.

• RTX 5090D V2 price increase: $666 (4,500 yuan)
• RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti series: $222 to $252 (1,500 to 1,700 yuan)
• RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB series: $148 (1,000 yuan)
• RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB series: $96 to $104 (650 to 700 yuan)
• RTX 5060 8 GB series: $89 to $101 (600 to 680 yuan)
• RTX 5050 series: $89 (600 yuan)
• AMD RX 9070 XT: $170 (1,150 yuan)
• RX 9060 XT 8 GB: $74 to $96 (500 to 650 yuan)

The average increase of the most popular cards is roughly 40%, though Nvidia's reported 20-30% wholesale kit hike suggests retail prices still have room to climb further before the year is out. 

AMD hasn't been spared either, with Radeon kit prices reportedly up around 10% as of July. With DRAM contract prices projected to rise up to 18% next quarter, buyers shouldn't expect relief anytime soon.

One of the reasons for the Asus and Gigabyte price adjustments is said to be the bump in GDDR7 graphics RAM price, with the average cost for a 16 GB graphics card increasing by close to $150, which now has to be passed on to the end user.
